Dr. Tammy Born Huizenga of the Born Clinic shares some simple ways you can boost your immune system during the COVID-19 outbreak with Fox 17 anchor Janice Allen.

[E]very cell needs enough nutrients or enough nutrition to work, and really most Americans don’t have such a great diet these days,” Dr. Born Huizenga explains, recommending vitamin D, vitamin C, and zinc in addition to a well-balanced diet. “Diet is key,” she emphasizes, advising the avoidance of simple sugars and dairy products in favor of a diet filled with a variety of fruits, vegetables, and lean meats.
“We really want our immune systems to be on guard and really vigilant right now,” she says, explaining that a healthy lifestyle includes getting some exercise and enough sleep every day, staying connected to loved ones, and reducing stress.
