This is a delicious and healthful side recipe perfect for any holiday table. It is simple to prepare and makes such a tasty whole-food side option that is sure to please.
3 cups green beans
1 1/2 tbs grass-fed butter or ghee
1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
4 cloves minced garlic / or ~3 1/2 tbs minced garlic
Zest of lemon
Juice of a lemon
Flaky sea salt
1) Prep Work
Wash beans and trim the ends. Mince the garlic.
2) Steam the Beans
Add 1-2 inches of water to a saucepan with a steamer basket and bring to a boil. Add beans to the steamer basket and cover. Reduce heat to medium and steam for about 4-5 minutes.
3) Cook the Garlic
Meanwhile, in a skillet over low-medium heat – melt the butter/ghee, and add the olive oil and garlic, stirring continuously until golden brown. (About 2-3 minutes)
4) Combine and Cook
Add the steamed beans to the skillet, toss to coat with the butter mixture and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
5) Plate and Serve
Transfer to a serving dish, top with flaky sea salt, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and the zest of a lemon. Serve and enjoy!
